I currently trade on the stock market but I am interested in currency trading. I would like to know if it is similar to trading stock in which you trade using an online broker and if so what brokers are the best to use with the lowest commission fees?

Let’s zoom in into some of the contents that are provided in a forex trading guide. Basically, you can find contents like the mechanics and introduction to forex trading, how to be a profession forex trader etc in the forex basics section. Forex technical analysis helps you to be able to read forex charts, use of Fibonacci, support and resistance etc.

Are you a very emotional person who reacts hugely to cases when you win or lose money? If you are, the trading psychology part will teach you how you can control your emotions, how you can overcome greed etc when it comes to trading.

You may find that most people first thing will look for the trading system, let it be a forex course, an ebook, or a tutorial. Why is that so? Most people thought that they can profit with the trading system alone, which is untrue as there is a need for money management and emotions control too!

What Is Forex Trading Software?

Forex trading using software has been growing in popularity all over the world. 10 years ago, currency trading involved either renting a seat down at the trading pit, or calling your broker to execute your trades on your behalf. In recent years, the boom of the internet has made the process of trading so much easier.

These days, one can easily trade Forex via an internet connection on his or her computer. However, online trading does not only involve the retail trader looking at live price fluctuations, but also the history of the price movement over a period of time using price charts. Charting software has been increasingly incorporated into trading platforms, and has made the Forex market very accessible to any one who is interested in trading.

With these integrated functions, retail traders can now easily look at a price chart, and execute their trades all using the same piece of software. Now, almost anyone can trade currencies just by installing the trading platform software into their computer.

Web-based Trading Platforms

Not all Forex trading platforms are required to be installed into your computer. There are numerous trading brokers who also provide web-based trading solutions for people who do not wish to install any software.

These web-based trading platforms will provide the same charting and trade-execution functions too. However, due to technical limitations, the number of platform functions you’ll have access to is limited when using a web-based platform.

If you want the full suite of supporting trading functions, it would be best if you could download and install a piece of trading platform software.

Experiment

Not all trading platforms are made equal. Some have more functions than others, and some are more intuitive to use than others. There is no one ‘best’ trading platform for everyone: it is all up to your personal preference.

That’s why I recommend that you try at least 2-3 different trading platforms before you decide on using one for good. Try both the software install and web-based platform versions, you’ll never know which one you’ll prefer until you try both.

Do you think that you should learn how to trade forex the hard way and gain all the knowledge before you can be successful? Do you think you can master the forex market if you combine all the strategies taught by every forex trading expert? If your answer is yes, you are WRONG! In other businesses, you may get rewarded for all the efforts and time you have put into.

But in forex trading, it’s the right forex trading tutorials and education that counts and you are rewarded for being accurate and not for efforts. You will be surprised that successful traders only follow a winning trading system blindly to build up their trading capital.

Secret #3 – They possess Determination, Discipline, Money Management and Mindset for Success

My professional forex trader friend told me that he would swipe everything aside just to concentrate on his forex trading. It’s his determination to succeed made him overcome small losses and steep learning curves that he had experienced in the beginning. He emphasized on a huge mistake that a lot of people make is that they are too eager to trade, too eager to make money fast from the forex market.

You need to have discipline to follow the rules of your forex trading system. Huge capital gains in forex are piled up over years of consistency and not days, there is no shortcut to riches. He manages his money so well that even 2 or 3 losses in a row can’t affect his profitability much. 1% or even 0.5% of his capital margin per trade is what he is only willing to risk.

Not everyone can be a professional trader in a short period of time as you need huge capital, but anyone can become successful in forex trading if you learn how to trade forex the professional way.
